I could really get used to these on the fly hair styles. The versatility of natural hair is second to none. I woke up late, had the “I don’t want to work on Friday” blues and still managed to pull off something super cute! YAY ME! 🙂 That definitely gave me some energy this morning. One of my mantras: “If you look good, then you feel good, and if you feel good, then you’ll work good.” Yeah, Yeah, I know it should be “work Well” but you get what I’m saying.

I started out with the same twist out I mentioned from yesterday. I separated a large section of hair in the front of my head and left it loose for the bang. I gather the rest of my hair in the back and put it in a pony tail with an elastic band. I then tucked the hair in around the base of the pony tail to create a messy bun and pinned it with bobbie pins. After the bun was formed to my liking, I began to pin the bang down by swooping sections of hair around my forehead and pinning them around on the side, being sure to pat the bang and make sure it’s secure. I wet a brush and smoothed the sides of my hair and Viola!

I Love it! Happy Friday!

Here are somethings that I’m so loving right now! 😉

Kozy Shack Rice Pudding… yes, I’m serious! I love this stuff! It’s creamy and delicious and a guilt free snack when you want something sweet but not too sweet. I’m a sucker for creamy desserts…custard pies, ice cream, creme brulee…I could go on and on…

Buns! I have been ripping and running for a few weeks now and bunning my hair is a fast and fierce protective style. I love the way my curls are moist and defined when I take the buns down at night. Bunning traps the moisture.

Pre-cut Celery Sticks and “Jiffy Peanut Butter To-Gos”! Well, I didn’t expect to be so full and satisfied with this snack but I am, and I love it! It is perfect for those late afternoon snacks at work when I just need something to carry me until dinner. plus the celery sticks are only 10 calories! #fullandwinning

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Yogurt! Let me tell you, I love this Jumbo Eye Pencil because it is so easy to apply and gives great pigment. Who doesn’t love a an easy product to throw on in the morning? I just apply the pencil to my inner eye when I have no time to apply full shadow and Boom! It INSTANTLY polishes and finishes my look! I can’t get enough. I ordered this one on eBay, but the pencils can also be purchased at ULTA beauty stores.

There you have it, things I’m currently digging! Hope you dig them too!

Bun on the Run!

Yes I am still here! Please excuse my absence last week! I was on a long business trip in not so sunny California. It was actually kind of cold. Any who, it was a last-minute trip and needless to say, I was ill prepared. I had no dry cleaning prepared, my apartment was a mess and to no surprise, neither was my hair done. When I got to my hotel the first thing I thought to do was a bun. When I was younger I used to call this style a “dough nut” and the bigger the better when I was a teeny bopper! My “dough nuts” where huge, pulled tightly (-_-), sleek (because of my creamy crack) and, sometimes 4 or 5 inches in diameter! Nowadays, I have scaled back the size for the sake of professionalism and have embraced my waves. The bun made a comeback in my whirlwind of business travel and I must say it was a good one!

To make a bun, you need a thick sock and a pair of scissors. cut the toe section out of the sock and roll the entire length of the sock onto its self until the entire sock is rolled up. Add another sock if you desire a larger bun. I use a small bun because my hair is so thick by itself.

Gather your hair back into a pony tail with a small elastic band. I use ecostyler Olive oil gel and a soft bristle brush to smooth my pony tail. Pull your pony tail through the center hole of the sock bun.

Evenly distribute your hair around the sock bun and secure the ends with a scrunchy of your choice at the base of the bun. Since my hair is so thick, I used the elastic part of a stocking to secure my hair and keep it tucked under the base of the bun.

Have a good one!

10 Step 10 Minute Work Make-Up

One of my last morning rituals before I leave out of the front door is to put on my make up. I honestly don’t miss a day, this face must be BEAT before I leave for work. 🙂 LOL. That may sound a little shallow, but I have tested and proven theory that if you look good, you feel good, and if you feel good, you’ll work good. Yeah, yeah I know the English majors are going to have a hissy fit over the grammar etc. but I don’t care. You know what I mean. As a woman it is so easy to get run down and occupied with everything and everyone and neglect yourself. What I’m trying to say is, ALWAYS KEEP YOURSELF UP SO LIFE CAN’T GET YOU DOWN!

Here is my morning make up routine…

1. I start with a freshly washed face using Clean & Clear foaming facial cleanser.

2. I moisturize my face with Clean & Clear Dual Action skin moisturizer.

3. I apply Mary Kay Eye Primer from lid to eyebrow on both eyes.

4. Using a beauty sponge I apply MAC Matchmaster SPF15 foundation in color 7.5 to my entire face except my eyelids.

5. I apply Mary Kay eye color in Sienna to my lid and crease.

6. I use Revlon PhotoReady Concealer in deep to highlight my brow bone and blend it with a foundation brush.

7. I apply L’Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes to my eyelashes.

8. I apply NYC jet black pencil eyeliner to my water line.

9. I brush MAC Ambering Rose Blush onto my cheek bones.

10. Finally, I apply a coat of chapstick and Revlon Coral Reef lip gloss on my lips.

Here’s the final product!

Work it ladies! Have a good day!

Lina
